I am a big fan of my cardi. I admire her as a young talented youngster of color appearing in the rap industry starting from scratch. She is truly a self-made millionaire and deserves all the success and fame on her way. I love music and the new song, Twerk. However, the video is very clear and not something you want your daughter or daughter to see politely! All the women in the video are women who weigh their asses and fall into the dirt with belts. Visually this can be seen as very humiliating for black women! Many videos such as this video have roots in a long history of African-American culture of black women who are defined as sex symbols that came from slavery. It seems that the white artist, Lexi Panterra, who stated that Cardi B was discriminating against white women because there was no Caucasian woman in her video, was making fun of me! That's what really made me think, is this something we should praise?

 Why can not there be any Caucasian women in the Twerk video or similar videos as far as we see Sudanese women in this role? Should women fight in order to be seen in public in order to shake their assets and demonize what our forefathers blessed to see the world? I understand that sex does not sell and what provokes attention. How do these types of music videos affect women in color in their professional and personal lives? In the middle of the longest government shutdown in US history, many women struggle to cover their expenses, and some will have to go to private industry. There is already a stain on women who are aggressive in reaching the top, but we have a double stigma towards black women because of the role they think they play in society. This comes from slavery when black women are raped and considered as property owned by hard labor and in many cases sexual gratification. I enjoy professional dress with some exciting taste and sometimes, but can we sabotage ourselves by playing in our culture and the box that puts us in it? Do musical videos like Twerk put women in a deeper hole if you want to fan the big booty and not do anything else than drop it? Your thoughts?
