Violence against women in Latin America has recently been classified as an epidemic in the region, sexual violence is one of the main forms of violence, and the situation of women in the rest of the world is not very different. According to a World Health Organization (WHO) report and data from the United Nations Women's Fund, "recent figures on the prevalence of the disease in the world indicate that one in three women in the world (35%) have experienced physical and / or sexual violence for a couple or sexual violence before Third parties at some point in their lives. "

In the wake of a wave of escalating violence against women, protests are being organized in different parts of the world in a failed attempt to stop them, especially after hearing cases of people shaking their heads. In those protests, you can read countless posters with expressions of violence and support for women. One of the phrases that struck me repeatedly: "We live in a world where women are taught not to be raped, rather than to teach men not to violate." I was invited to pay attention to two reasons:

First, because I saw a harsh truth in that phrase, since I was born and raised in a muscular society where it is usual for men to harass women in the street, to tell them rudely or shamelessly; men are usually beaten by men because they "enjoy" their rights. In some areas of my country, women see that their husbands have the right to beat them, because they are their husbands, and even get angry if someone tries to defend them !!! It seems a joke, but it is not, and I think the proportion of sexual violence committed against women in my country and to a large extent in the world is largely.

And second, because I would like to explain to the person who wrote this phrase that Islam teaches men "non-violation". Moreover, before referring to the issue of women's behavior and clothing, the Quran draws men's attention to their behavior and directs them to a strong warning: "Tell the believers [Muhammad!] Let them look away and refrain from committing adultery because this is their purest. Allah is well aware of what they do} [Koran 24:30]. Here God tells men that they should not even look at women unnecessarily, even men at this level are required to respect women, even with their own eyes! And they warned that God knows what they do, even if no one knows Him, God knows. Then, in the first place, God addresses men and orders them to behave well and respect women; then address women and order them to behave well and dress modestly because Islam is fair and teach us that both men and women must fulfill our share of responsibility to make this world better and live in harmony . Therefore, Islam teaches men not to rape them because even if they are prevented from looking at women without justification, they are forbidden to unduly touch them.

Islam has dealt with the issue of good treatment of women in a detailed and detailed manner, affirming the special respect it deserves at every stage of its life - when it is a daughter, when it is a wife, and when it is the mother, as we shall see below.

Respect for girls

Before Islam was revealed, among the Arabs was the calamity of the birth of a girl. While men were proud of their parents and relatives, women were the cause of disappointment and grief; for that reason, they had the terrible habit of burying newborns alive. God condemned this position and these crimes unequivocally, saying: [When one of them announces [the birth of] a girl, the distress and distress in her face is reflected because of what was announced to her, hiding from people ashamed. He doubts whether he will be allowed to live despite his nakedness or burial. [Koran 16: 58-59]; and warns that one day, on the Day of Resurrection, [when the girls are asked to be buried alive because of the sin they were killed] [Koran 81: 8-9]. In this way, God forbade this brutal practice as a very serious sin.  God will make him Enter Paradise without a place of doubt. " Then a man from the crowd asked, "What if he had only two daughters?

This is how Islam establishes the value of women since birth and gives them a place of honor by making them a source of grace for their parents in this life and in the other.
Respect for the mother

Islam respects respect and good treatment towards our parents but elevates the mother's status to the father. It is related that a man appeared before the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and asked him, "O Messenger of Allaah, who is the person who deserves my company?" He replied: "Your mother". The man asked, "So who?" The Prophet replied: "Your mother". The man asked for the third time: "So who?" The Prophet said: "Your mother". The man asked again: "Then who?

Even the Prophet spoke of the respect we should have for our cousins. A man went to talk to the Prophet Muhammad and said, "O Prophet, you have committed a grave sin." Do you think I can repair it in some way? He asked: "Do you have a living mother? " The man said yes, then the Prophet said to him: "Be well and considerate to her" (Tirmidhi, Hakim, Ibn Hibban);

Respect for the wife

Quran commands: {... prefer to treat women in cohabitation. If something should bother you [to be tolerant], it may be that you hate something that Allah has put good for you. "[Al-Bukhara 4:19]

During the last sermon delivered by the Prophet Muhammad before his death, he said: "... treat your women well and be kind to them, because they are your companions."

conclusion

One of the main accusations against Islam is that it is a sexist religion that oppresses women, deprives us of all our rights, and we are subjected to all kinds of violations committed by men and that we have to stay silent because that is what our religion requires. However, the reality is that respecting and treating women well in Islam is not an option, but a duty! It is clear and clear from God, and anyone who does not comply with this will happen in an act of disobedience He will have to make an account between God.

Again, Islam teaches us the guidelines for living in harmony and security, so that people's rights are respected, so that the strong do not harm the weak and no one treats injustice. However, many people prefer to follow the path of evil, do not feel compassion for the suffering of others and just want to satisfy their desires at all costs. But the day will come when all injustice will be paid and every criminal will pay the price of his crimes: "... but I know that I am prepared for those who commit the injustice of a fire surrounding them. When they choke and ask to drink, it will pour liquid like molten metal that burns their faces. What a terrible drink and what a terrible dwelling! On the other hand, those who believe and act rightly know that I will reward all their works. "[Al-Qur'an 18: 29-30].

Islam teaches the rules of conduct for both men and women, and teaches high moral and spiritual values; but as long as people do not want to follow this evidence, the evil in this world will increase.
